While March madness may bring to mind fun and games for some, the real March madness includes none of that.
AB 348, a bill that will expand sex education in Nevada schools, has been introduced in the legislature. But they’re not stopping there.
SB 225, legislation attacking religious freedom and private schools, has also made its way to the legislature. It seems they’re brimming with ideas that would make one think “madness” is an understatement.
Washoe County has joined the madness with the sex education curriculum currently under their consideration. This curriculum undermines parents and their rights, and introduces controversial topics to children at young ages. You can learn more about this situation here.
What are we doing in the midst of the madness? Well, we’ve planted ourselves right in the middle of it. We’ve spoken out at committee hearings and voiced our concerns about several bills being put forward. We’ve dissected the newly proposed sexual education curriculum for Washoe County, educated parents and churches, and attended meetings to voice concern, as well as urged others to attend.
We also just released the details for our Citizen Advocacy Day which will take place in Carson City on April 6th. At this event participants will: gain an understanding of how a bill becomes law, learn how to confidently and effectively voice their concerns to their elected representatives, become equipped with practical tools and resources to impact the culture, learn how to start a Culture Impact Team, and hear from speakers who will provide them with resources that will allow them to become active in their community.
We consider it a high honor to be able to partner with citizens as they endeavor to make an impact in their communities by educating and equipping Nevadans to protect the rights of all.
The education and training that we offer are without cost to the public, but not without cost to us.
