Call meeting to order: by President Vicky Maltman Time 6:10 P.M.

New members: A motion was made to accept new members, Roger Edwards and Harry Rogers. Motion passed.
Jeanne Herman reported that The Nevada Lands Council is urging Nevadans to support the return of lands to the State of Nevada in a way that the lands can be used by all residents. Lands set aside for wilderness would result in Nevadans losing land use, grazing rights and water rights.
Carole Fineberg reported that the Washoe County School district voted to be a sanctuary city.
President Vicky Maltman suggested that Adam Laxalt look into the vote to make The Washoe School District a sanctuary city.
John Eppolito: The school district will store student data on the cloud and 3rd parties will have access to the data.
President Vicky Maltman presented Janine Hansen with a $100.00 check to help support her efforts at the legislature.
A Lobby Class Presentation was made by Janine Hansen & John Wagner. Janine Hansen has worked full time at the legislature since 1991.
A Motion was made to approve the minutes from Jan. 3, 2017. The motion was made by Carole Fineberg and second by Juanita Cox. The motion was amended to include corrections. The Motion passed.
Judge Stiglich has moved up to Nevada Supreme Court. There are now 13 applicants to replace Judge Stiglich.
Everyone can send letters to Robin Sweet to support any of the candidates. Interviews will be during week March 14th.
The WCRA will suggest a motion for supporting some of the judges.
Treasurer’s report by George Lee. The balance is $743.15. A motion was made by Juanita Cox to move $100 from checking account to the savings account. A second was made by Joannah Schumacher. The Motion passed.
Joannah Schumacher reported that there is a bill in congress to end the Department of Education, HR 899.
Joannah Schumacher reported on the the Federal land issue that was discussed at the convention center. This issue will be lobbied in Washington D.C. and several Washoe County employees will be paid by Washoe County to attend. We need to apply pressure over these expenses when these employees do not represent the voters and taxpayers.
John Potash 775 250 7625 firstname.lastname@example.org Exiotic Animals The Washoe County Commission will be discussing new laws to regulate and tax animals. Watch for notices of future Washoe County meetings.
Roger Edwards The Merger of Washoe County and the city would result in loss of rights for the rurals.
Lincoln Day Dinner
Juanita Cox reported that Storey County will have a Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb. 18th.
Carole Fineberg reported that Washoe County will have their Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb 25th.
Motion to adjourn Juanita Cox moved to adjourn and was seconded by Jackie Hagar. The motion passed.
